About

Mission

I have two passions, the first is fine art, the second is story telling. It is my goal to weave these passions together and create works that make people smile. Combining my passions, I've written twelve and illustrated thirteen children’s books. My illustrative style is flexible and ranges from traditional to concept. I work in all mediums from watercolour to oil, to digital, and believe each story project deserves to be illustrated in a style which enhances without distracting.

Everyone brings their own backstory which makes an artwork or story as individual as the the person viewing it... I hope my work speaks to you.

History

Over the last 30 years my ‘fine’ artwork has won major awards and is in galleries and private collections around the world. Of my books, seven are in one series. This self-published series was sought by the Queensland State Government and placed into all schools and libraries. One was also utilised by mental health groups as a counselling tool for children made homeless after numerous natural disasters in Australia and New Zealand. It has now been digitized by the Queensland Education Department for special needs children. I am honoured to say that my standalone books, The Bear Said Please published by Wombat books in 2014 and the 2015 self-published picture book ANZAC-The Story of a Little Goat are both used in National Curriculum Grammar Strategies books alongside books by Mem Fox, Jackie French, Jeannie Baker and Narelle Oliver.
