Are you like me and put off things that aren’t perhaps the top of the ‘Important at the Time’ list? Then you realise later that you should have spent the time and effort and just concentrated on getting all of your ‘to do’ things DONE. They add up all of those undone ‘to do’ things.
Nearly everyday I have an idea for a blog, then dangnab it, I file it…. do you have any idea how big my blog file is?
Today I thought NO FILING, its BLOGTIME.
Tomorrow is the first of November that means it is the first day of NaNoWriMo and PiBoIdMo. You don’t know what that is about, well let me tell you. They are fun ways to get a lot of creative work done and being supported by others all over the globe.
NaNoWriMo is the National Novel Writing Month, 30 days to write 50,000 words that breaks down to 1667 words a day. They don’t have to be good words, no editing and yes blogs count (I will edit those). There is a Nano website to upload your word count everyday, nanomail and regional groups that get together face to face. AND you can get the T-shirt too. It is all about learning the discipline of writing everyday, something I could do with learning.
PiBoIdMo is a similar thing only it is designed specifically for picture book writers and illustrators. 30 days and 30 ideas. This year is my first time with the Picture Book Idea Month group and I am really excited about it. Not too sure how I will go doing both. I think I will concentrate on PiBoIdMo and get my 30 ideas, NaNoWriMo will be a conduit to work on a novel in progress.
Wish me luck
PS See this blog isn’t overly long and it is 315 words. Tomorrow I start to count.
